Myra is an ancient Lycian city located today around the Alakent neighbourhood of the Demre district of Antalya. It was built on a fertile alluvial plain formed by sediment carried by the Demre stream, between Mount Alaca, the Akdağlar (Massicytus) range and the Aegean Sea.
