Editor's Note
This is the resting place of Sultan Abdulaziz, the 32nd Ottoman sultan. A son of Mahmud II, he reigned from 1861 to 1876 and was the first Ottoman sultan to travel to Western Europe on a diplomatic mission, visiting Paris, London and Vienna. He was deposed in a government coup on 30 May 1876 and was found dead six days later.
