Editor's Note
The Göksu Stream, which today supplies the waterfall at Sızır, once flowed from here. The Göksu Stream ran at the site of the mill, and the old waterfall was here as well. It is known that the mill channels still surviving in the village date from the Roman period. Sızır was founded on the ruins of the city of Horzurum in Roman times. The mill remains are located above "Sadığın Bağı" (Sadık's Vineyard). There are at least seven channels. Gates could be fitted to the channels, because special grooves were carved into the stone for this purpose. In this way the flow of water could be controlled (see
