Editor's Note
The present town of Sızır was one of the important centres of the Celali revolts that began in the 16th century. "Ali Dede" was most likely a dervish or notable figure who lived in the Sızır region in the 16th century and provided spiritual leadership to a Turkmen tribe. He may have taken part in the Celali revolts or been part of the dervish lineage that formed their ideological foundation. Ali Dede is connected to the Celi Dede Tomb located in the Kalebaşı neighbourhood of Sızır. According to information I gathered from the village, his grave was opened by someone and bones were found inside, but the body's skull was missing.
