In his book on Beylerbeyi, Mehmet Rebii Hatemi Baraz describes this fountain as follows: It stands toward the end of Beybostanı Street, at the road's end and below a terrace, where the Beylerbeyi Mektebi Street leading up to Küplüce begins with a flight of steps. In front of the fountain stands a drooping gaslight with broken glass. The plaster of the fountain has flaked away, and some of its long troughs are broken, while the troughs that remain intact are filled with water flowing from a stone spout and are also suitable for watering animals. The fountain was last [repaired] in 1860, under Sultan [Abdülaziz I].
