Editor's Note
Between Feneryolu and Kızıltoprak, above the railway line, stands a mansion set within a seven-dönüm garden enclosed by high walls; it belonged to Abdülkadir Efendi, son of Sultan Hamid. Its first owner, the lawyer Fevzi Bey, had the mansion built in 1900 and shortly afterward began renting it out in the summers; Fehim Paşa, son of İsmet Bey, the wardrobe-master of Sultan Abdülhamid II, lived there as a summer tenant for several years. In 1910, the mansion was sold to the sultan's son Abdülkadir Efendi.
