Editor's Note
Built in 1845, the mansion was purchased by the Albanian deputy Esat Toptani. He lived in this mansion with his wife Fatma Şadiye Hanım. When Esat Toptani Pasha was assassinated in Paris, his wife continued to live alone in the mansion. In 1949 she donated the mansion as a rest facility for teachers. After 1949 it was used as a rest facility, and from 1992 as a Teachers' House, until in 2014 the Teachers' House ceased operations so the mansion could be renovated.
