Editor's Note
One of the most famous mansions of the Kızıltoprak district, this house was distinctive enough to inspire the novel "The Kuleli Mansion Tragedy." Its mystery stemmed partly from the fact that, in the early 20th century, there were no apartment buildings around it and it stood pitch-black in the middle of a large field. Although there is no detailed information about the mansion, its owner was Staff Colonel Kara Vasıf Bey. As of today the historic building has been demolished, and a private housing complex of three buildings bearing the same name has been built on the site. Its entrance is on Yıldız Rona Street.
