Editor's Note
The Kadıköy branch of the Cinémathèque tradition, which has existed in various countries around the world since the 1930s, was founded in 1965. The association closed in 1980 and reopened in 2000, but the institution had no building of its own. In 2018, Kadıköy Municipality began to reconstruct an old mansion for the Cinémathèque institution. In the mansion, whose construction was completed in 2020, it is planned to hold film festivals, screen various films, and offer cinema-related courses.
