Editor's Note

Though known as the Arab or Persian cemetery, it is in fact an Ottoman cemetery where prominent palace figures were buried. Chamberlain Ladikli Ahmed Ağa is interred here. It is the last surviving remnant of the Karacaahmet Cemetery. Burials took place here from the 18th century to the early 20th century.
