This was the practice and home of S. Benbanaste, a dermatologist, paediatrician, and internist from Ortaköy. His son, the physician Marko Benbanaste, also grew up in this house; after studying in Italy he returned to the Yeldeğirmeni district in the 1940s. It is a three-storey historic masonry building with bay windows, located at No. 37 Karakolhane Avenue. Source: A Hundred Years of Our Life in Haydarpaşa.
