Editor's Note
The Dağ Hamamı (Mountain Bathhouse) takes its name from its location on the high ridge behind Bülbüldere Cemetery. The bathhouse stood at the junction of Kuşakçı Street and Yüksel Street, on the right corner of the latter. Today the site is a vacant lot. All that remains of the bathhouse is a small domed structure and, adjoining it, a tall, vaulted-roof water cistern. The date of its construction is unknown. It is thought to have been built around 1840-50 and to have been an Armenian foundation. Source: Üsküdar Through the Centuries, Mehmet Nermi Haskan, p.
