Editor's Note
In 1861 two primary schools were opened in the Caferağa quarter, with girls and boys taught in separate buildings. In 1898 the two schools, together with a newly founded kindergarten, moved to their new buildings. By 1924 the school had, in addition to its six primary grades, two middle grades as well. It no longer operates as a Greek school.
