It lies in the courtyard of the Aziz Mahmud Hüdâyî Efendi Mosque, on the right side of the shrine, beside the open tomb of Fatma Sultan, daughter of Kaya Sultan. He was the sheikh of the Kadirî Lodge, known as the Salkımsöğüt or Aydınoğlu Lodge. Mehmet İzzî Efendi was the son of Karbanzâde Hacı İsmail Efendi, one of the notables of Niğde. In 1295 (1879) he became a disciple of the great mystic and poet Osman Şems Efendi. Having requested retirement from his post as chief clerk of the City Prefecture's Administrative Council, he devoted himself to writing at his home in the Tabaklar district.
