Editor's Note
The Şemsi Paşa Pavilion stands in Şemsipaşa Square in Üsküdar and is named after its founder, Şemsi Paşa. It is also known as Şerefâbâd, since it was presented as a gift to Sultan Murad III. It is thought to have been built before 1580 and possibly designed by Mimar Sinan. Linked to the Şemsi Paşa Mosque and Madrasa, the pavilion's location has occasionally caused confusion among historians. Notably, sources such as Evliya Çelebi make no mention of the pavilion at all.
