Editor's Note
Construction: AH 1174 / AD 1760. This fountain at the corner of the courtyard of the Ayazma Mosque is clad in marble. It has no mirror stone of the usual kind. Instead, a square column was set in as a projection and the tap fitted to it. There are wide troughs in front of it. The fountain was once covered by a broad wooden eave, but as this eave had fallen into ruin it was demolished in 1978.
