The building was constructed in 1884 as a summer hunting lodge for Yusuf İzettin Efendi, son of Sultan Abdülaziz. After the proclamation of the Republic, the building was converted into a school serving the children of fallen soldiers. Known by various names throughout its history, the school was turned into a Building Trades School in 1939 to provide vocational education. Since 2000 it has offered education under the name İSOV Technical and Industrial Vocational High School. Set on a large plot, the school has grown into a complex with the addition of various buildings over the years.
