Editor's Note
It was built in 1893 on the slopes of Kandilli by the Englishman David Glavany, one of the founders of the Ottoman Bank. It was purchased in 1939 by Prof. Burhanettin Berken and transferred in 1953 to the General Directorate of National Real Estate. (Source: yesiltopuklar.com) Unused since the 1980s, the mansion was assigned to the Üsküdar Municipality in December 2021. It now operates as "Nevmekân Kandilli."
