Editor's Note
The mosque, with masonry walls and a gabled roof, was built in the late 19th or early 20th century. Although it was repaired by order of Abdülhamid II, it fell into ruin over time. In 1975 it was demolished, and construction of the larger present-day mosque began on the same site, completed in 1981.
