Editor's Note
Its first owner was Şemsi Efendi of Bursa, later a gentleman named İhsan Bey, a member of the Council of State, and from him it was bought by Doctor Enver of Crete. In 1916 the pharmacist Sait Hatemi Bey and his family lived in this mansion as tenants; in 1942 Togo Bey, a teacher at the Commerce School, and his elder brother Fahri Bey, director of the Haydarpaşa Veterinary School, lived here, while Adil Bey, principal of Beylerbeyi Primary School, lived in the house on Beylerbeyi İskele Avenue. The mansion is a two-and-a-half-story structure built out over the sea. It has a semah hall with a mezzanine and was used as the summer sheikh's residence of the Bursa Mevlevi Lodge.
