Editor's Note
Located in Istanbul's Beşiktaş district, this mosque was first built in 1622 by Kaptan İbrahim Pasha. The worn structure was rebuilt in 1763 by Grand Vizier Hamid Hamza Pasha, and according to the 1899 inscription over its main door, the present building was reconstructed by Sultan Abdülhamid II with masonry walls and a wooden roof. It is notable for its finely crafted mihrab and minbar and its single-balcony stone minaret.
