Hatemi Efendi Namazgahı

In Mustafa Özdamar's article titled "Namazgahlar" (Open-Air Prayer Grounds), the following information appears: The terrace on plot 5, block 901, shaded by a leafy tree on Küplüce Avenue in the Küplüce neighborhood of Beylerbeyi, is one of the prayer grounds endowed by Hatemi Efendi and kept historically intact by the local community. Source: Mustafa Özdamar, Namazgahlar. On the 1918 Necip Bey Map this spot is marked as a prayer ground. No trace of the prayer ground survives today. It is a walled garden. The qibla stone of the prayer ground reads: "Whenever Zechariah entered upon her in the prayer chamber."
