In his work titled Beylerbeyi, Mehmet Rebii Hatemi Baraz gives the following information about the fountain: There are two fountains on Beybostanı Street. The first stands in the middle of Bostanbağı Street. A centuries-old chestnut tree rises right beside it, casting a wide shade over the area around the fountain. The fountain first collected water coming from the stream in its tiny cistern and then let it flow; in summer, when the stream dried up, its water ran out. The fountain's marble inscription is broken, while its mirror marbles have survived intact, though covered with dirt, rust, and moss.
