Editor's Note
It stood at the junction of Selâmi Tekkesi Street and Selâmi Türbesi Street in the Kısıklı neighbourhood. The last of the three lodges that Selâmi Ali Efendi had built in Üsküdar, this complex was completed in the final years of its founder's life, and when Selâmi Ali Efendi died he was buried in its cemetery. İzzet Ali Pasha, son-in-law of the Damad Mehmed Pasha line (d. 1734), had a pulpit added to the lodge's mosque-tevhidhane and provided the necessary contribution to its endowment. Between 1912 and 1917 a significant part of the lodge disappeared, and its wooden quarters, after remaining in ruins for a long time during the Republican period, also faded into history.
