The waterside mansion on Barış Manço Avenue is an eclectic-style wooden building of two storeys set on a masonry service floor, with a pedimented balcony on the second floor. The mansion, which had been in the hands of Mehmet Muhtar Bey, an important statesman of the eras of Sultan Abdülaziz and Abdülhamid II, and his heirs, was bought from those heirs by Sezgin Elmas in 1996 when it was about to be demolished, and was restored. The waterside mansion was registered as a protected monument under protection no. 63 by the Council for Immovable Antiquities and Monuments in 1971.
