Editor's Note
The Kazasker Mosque, at the intersection of Sinan Ercan Avenue and Şakacı Street in Kadıköy's 19 Mayıs district, was built in 1902 by Kasidecizade Kazasker Süleyman Sırrı Efendi, one of the chief military judges (kazaskers) of Sultan Abdülhamid II. The mosque's pulpit (minbar) and preacher's chair are of wood, while its mihrab is tile-clad. In the small cemetery in the courtyard of this mosque, which has a single minaret with a single balcony, lie the graves of its founder Süleyman Sırrı Efendi and his son Ahmet Talat Kasidecioğlu. www.tarihi.ist
