Editor's Note
It is one of the fountains along the Istanbul-Baghdad Road. Additions were made through the restorations it underwent. Semavi Eyice describes the fountain's state in 1958 as follows: "...A fountain adjoining the garden wall of a house across from Plaj Yolu street... This fountain, which lies well below the present street level and whose water flows continuously, has three basins and a wall of küfeki stone. It is understood that there was originally a water-storage chamber (sof) behind it, but this has now been turned into the garden of a house. The fountain has no inscription, nor any decoration that might help to date it."
