The Kınalıada Panagia Greek Orthodox Church, dedicated to the birth of the Mother of God, is built on a basilical plan. The plaque at its entrance reads "ΙΕΡΟΣ ΝΑΟΣ ΤΩΝ ΓΕΝΕΘΛΙΩΝ ΤΗΣ ΘΕΟΤΌΚΟΥ" (Holy Temple of the Nativity of the Virgin). It has a narthex entered from the courtyard to the south. In the narthex hangs a silver-clad icon symbolizing the birth of the Virgin Mary. On October 7-8 the church celebrates the "Panigiri," the Feast of the Nativity of the Virgin. When the church's foundations were excavated, many ancient remains came to light, two of which are displayed in the front garden. These date from the 6th.
