Editor's Note
The IMM City Lines ferry pier. The first ferry services to the Princes' Islands began in 1846, and the first piers were built in that same year. The ferries serving the islands were operated, in succession, by Seyr-i Sefain, Fevâid-i Osmaniye, İdare-i Aziziye, İdare-i Mahsusa and Şirket-i Hayriye. The Akay company, founded in 1933, ran the Islands, Kadıköy and Yalova line services until 1937.
