Editor's Note
Also known as the Aşiret Mektebi (Imperial Tribal School), it was founded in Istanbul in 1892 by Sultan Abdulhamid II. Its aim was to integrate tribes into the Ottoman Empire by educating the children of leading tribal chiefs within the Ottoman education system.
