Editor's Note
The square-plan mosque stands on Necatibey Avenue. Its patron was Sultan Bayezid II, and according to a popular tradition it was built before the larger mosque in the district that bears his name. The masjid seen today retains not the slightest trace of its original structure and holds no value in terms of Turkish building art; in our estimation it was probably built in the last century by altering a 17th-century structure.
