Located on Balo Avenue in Beyoğlu, this six-storey building was constructed in 1893 by Petros Adamandidis, a Greek architect of Westernising Istanbul, for use by his own family, and was named the Petraki Apartments. Petros Adamandidis was a distinguished architect and master builder of his time, also known as Petraki Kalfa. Apart from the Adamandidis House on Büyükada, his other known works include the Said Halim Paşa Mansion in Yeniköy, the İzzeddin Efendi Pavilion in Çamlıca, an apartment building in Kuledibi, and his own apartment block in Galatasaray.
