Editor's Note
The famous poet, writer and thinker Necip Fazıl Kısakürek was born on 26 May 1904 in the Çemberlitaş district, in the mansion belonging to his grandfather, Maraşlı Kısakürekzade Mehmet Hilmi Efendi. The mansion, which has not survived, stood in the Fatih district, Binbirdirek neighbourhood, Block 238, Parcel 42. A hotel building now rises on its site.
