Editor's Note
The cistern, studied and drawn by Forchheimer and Strzygowski, was observed during their 1893 survey to be filled with earth up to the column capitals. Today it is thought either to lie beneath the historic Baltacı Han, known as the Kalmazlı Han, or to be related to the wall remains on Block 315, Parcel 116.
