Editor's Note
Elçi Han, literally the Ambassador's Inn, was a structure in the Çemberlitaş quarter of Istanbul that served from the 16th to the 19th century. Part of the Atik Ali Pasha complex, it stood on the facade facing Divanyolu and was used to lodge foreign ambassadors to the Ottoman state. After being heavily damaged in the 1865 Hocapaşa fire, it passed in 1883 to the ownership of Osman Zeki Bey, and the Matbaa-i Osmani printing house was built on its site.
