Editor's Note
In the 16th century it was built by Mimar Sinan for Yahya Efendi, the steward of Sokollu Mehmet Paşa. According to the inscription over the door, it was renovated in 1311 (1893). The mihrab of the demolished Merzifonlu Kara Mustafa Paşa Mosque in Karaköy is housed in this mosque.
