Editor's Note
Erected in 1987 in Haliç Park at Perşembepazarı, the statue was made by Haluk Tezonar as part of the "Great Turks" project. At that time Tezonar's statues were placed in newly built parks and squares, and the statue of Mimar Sinan was set up in 1987 on the spot where Haliç Park was created after the buildings between Perşembe Pazarı and the Golden Horn were cleared away.
