Editor's Note
The mosque, built by Çandarlı Halil Paşazade İbrahim Paşa, was part of a complex that included a primary school and a fountain. Because it posed a serious danger, it was demolished by the Evkaf (foundations administration) in 1918. Today, among the shops built on the site, only a cross-section of one of its walls remains visible. Source: Mübahat Kütükoğlu, Istanbul Madrasas Surviving into the 20th Century, Ankara 2000.
