Editor's Note
This is the Divanhane (council hall) built between 1865 and 1869 by the architect Sarkis Balyan during the reign of Sultan Abdülaziz. Since 1953 it has been used as the building of the Northern Naval Area Command, and it has recently been undergoing a major restoration.
