Editor's Note
This is a cistern remnant identified during a construction foundation excavation in February 1987. The cistern, evidently damaged by earlier construction, has lost its barrel-vault covering entirely and its remaining parts partially. The cistern, thought from its plan to be the substructure of a building, has been placed under protection by decision of the Board in the second basement of the office block built over it. 1
