Editor's Note
Although its exact date of construction is unknown, it dates to the second half of the 15th century. Built as a mosque under his own name by Çakır Ağa—one of the Nimelceyş and a police chief of Istanbul—the structure was later converted into a dervish lodge. After its first sheikh, Şeyh Mehmet Sadık Efendi (d. 1821), it is also known as the Şeyh Sadık Lodge or Şeyh Sadık Efendi Lodge. The building served as a lodge until the 19th century. It has not survived to the present day.
