Editor's Note
It is a vault-covered water reservoir, partly running beneath the roadway. The outflow directions of the water reservoirs connected to the gallery have been found to lead toward Tahtakale, Aksaray and Sultanahmet, and the Odalar quarter. The structure, known to have been repaired and used in the 15th and 17th centuries during the Ottoman period, is thought to have been built in the Late Roman–Early Byzantine period. 1
