Editor's Note
The cistern, studied by Forchheimer-Strzygowski, is located on Köroğlu Street to the north of the Fethiye Mosque. The cistern, probably repaired in the Ottoman period, is covered by four adjoining barrel vaults. Considering the masonry workmanship, the cistern is said to date to the Middle Byzantine period. 1 The current condition of the cistern's above-ground remains, which have been damaged by construction, is unknown.
