Editor's Note
It is near the mosque of Darüssaade Ağası Mehmed Ağa; its founder was Şerife Fatma Hatun, who herself is buried close to this masjid. This Fatma Hanım was the wife of Bitlice Ali Efendi, who died in the year 1000 AH (1591–1592 CE) after being dismissed from the post of judge of Istanbul; this Bitlice Ali Efendi was the son of Defterdar Abdullah Efendi, the son of İlyas Efendi, who was the brother of Şeyhülislam Çivizade Mehmed Efendi.
