Editor's Note
It is located at No. 72 Neyzen İhsan Street in the Akşemseddin neighborhood. The exact construction date of the mosque is unknown; its founder was Mehmed Efendi (1520-1566), the inkstand-bearer of Defterdar Ahmed Efendi. It is said that he himself is buried near the masjid. Built during the reign of Süleyman the Magnificent and destroyed for an unknown reason, the mosque was restored in 1673-1674 by Silahtar Mustafa Pasha. The masjid, made of cut stone, burned down in the fire of 1334 AH / 1915 CE, and only the base of its minaret had survived to the present day.
