Editor's Note
It is located in Fatih, in the Mimar Sinan Neighborhood, on Yaman Street off Akşemseddin Avenue. The mosque was built by Tuti Abdullatif Efendi in his own name. The son of a teacher from Bursa, Abdullatif Efendi was raised under the tutelage of Kemal Paşa Zade and rose to the rank of Kadıasker (chief military judge). Because of his fondness for poetry and his beautiful voice, he became famous by the epithet Tuti Latif. He is buried in his own medrese, which he had built with the money he saved during his judgeship near the Tetimme Medrese on the İfraziye slope. The date of death on his gravestone is AH 1081/AD 1670-71.
