In his book "PENDİK (From the Beginning to 1924)," Sadullah Tezcan provides the following information about the "Cylindrical Cistern": "Today, on Hisar Street, the remains of a cylindrical brick water cistern that has drawn the attention of many travelers and researchers can be seen. Richard Pococke writes that this open-topped cistern, set into the ground, was used for watering gardens (Richard Pococke - A Description of the East and some other Countries. London 1743, Vol. 2, p. 98). R.
