Editor's Note
Built in 1907 by the Catholic community of Pendik, the church was used by that community until 1945; it was later used by Orthodox Christians between the late 1940s and 1960. The church was abandoned in 1970, and its roof collapsed in a fire that broke out. Today, although highly neglected and in a ruined state, the church's walls are still standing.
