Editor's Note
This is the Yunus Cement Factory, opened in Kartal in 1929 as a venture of Anadolu Çimentoları T.A.Ş., whose establishment with a capital of 2,000,000 lira was approved on 19 December 1928. The company, which had both domestic and foreign partners, had its largest share held by a Belgian firm called Société Financière des Ciments. It was demolished in 2004.
