Editor's Note
The Maltepe Aircraft Station was the largest and most important of the stations attached to the Air Branch. In addition to making use of the warehouses on the shore, it was also the best organized in terms of aircraft and personnel. The aircraft and equipment gathered and brought in from the Ayastefanos Airfield were kept at this station. Forty-five aircraft were being repaired here, awaiting takeoff.
